The Kapamilya actress Janella Salvador l0st her self-confidence when her eldest child Baby Jude was born. This is the first time mother immediately admitted in a magazine interview while saying “struggle is real” when it comes to motherhood.
The first-time celebrity mother unveiled until now she still can’t believe that she is a certified mother and has a baby depending on her care and love.
“I wouldn’t say I got fully depressed, but there are many times until now that I have to remind myself that, ‘Hey, you gave birth to a human, that’s pretty amazing, that’s pretty hard.”
“Because, after giving birth, I really lost confidence in myself, a lot of confidence,” Janella revealed in an interview.
She continued, “Nawala lahat ng vanities sa katawan ko. Like when I look in the mirror, I don’t really see myself anymore.
“It did take a toll on my confidence, but now I’m slowly trying to take care of myself more, get some self-care in, and try to get my old self back,” her partner unveiled, Kapamilya actor Markus Paterson.
She also said that she started working out now when she got the chance and if she has extra time, she also pampers herself so that she has stress resistance.
“Now I’m trying to squeeze in going to the derma. So that’s my self-care na, and working out sometimes. Sometimes. I’m not a regular workout-er,” Janella says.
This recent Mother’s Day, she also shared with the audience her journey as a first-time mother via Instagram. “There are no words to perfectly describe what being a mum is like so far— but one thing I have learned is that although I may have somehow lost myself, I gained my purpose,” Her message on her Instagram account.
